Hot Summer, Cooler Gems: The Must-Have Jewelry of the Season

Updated: Aug 18

Looking for inspiration this August 2025? We’ve found the most beautiful trends for you, whether it’s earrings, necklaces, bracelets or rings. Trends come and go, fade and disappear within a single season. One notable trend that faded away mid-summer was that of colorful DIY-style pearl jewelry, also called childhood bead jewelry or kidcore beads. At the beginning of the 2021 and 2022 summers, these letter, smiley or fruit bead necklaces, bracelets and rings made a nostalgic comeback reminiscent of the early 2000s. Worn by fashion influencers and pop stars such as Dua Lipa and Bella Hadid, this trend – often associated with the beach, festivals or the Y2K aesthetic (Year 2000) – began to disappear around mid-summer. The reason? Visual saturation – they were seen everywhere – inconsistent quality, a desire to return to minimalism and, finally, a concern for durability. Indeed, many of these handmade pieces broke or lost their charm quickly due to external factors such as heat, sweat or the sea. The trend has since been replaced by gold stainless steel jewelry, natural stones and 70s vintage-style pieces that have taken over in August.

This summer in coastal regions like the French Riviera, the Basque Country or Brittany, the start of the season saw a trend for white shell chokers (often cabris shells), dangling shell earrings and natural-fiber bracelets. However, by late July, this trend had reached its saturation point – seen and worn by everyone, it lost all originality, and the very “boho beach” style gave way to a more sophisticated urban look.

Which leads us to a few of the trends we love for this month!

  1. Earrings

The major earring trend this summer is mismatched earrings – that’s right, earrings are no longer identical on both sides. They differ in shape, size or style, creating a bold and original look that plays with contrasts.

Gone are the classic silver diamond studs — floral earrings will add an intoxicating floral touch to your outfits. In line with the beginning of the summer, and available everywhere, these floral beauties are impossible to miss. Whether at the beach, a wedding, in the city or in the countryside, they perfectly complement any occasion and add a sensual, bucolic touch to your look.

Hoop earrings are also having a big moment! Gold or silver, simple or adorned with pearls or diamonds, basic or double and intertwined, circular or rectangular – there are countless options, but one thing in common: they’re all small. Nicole Scherzinger was spotted wearing thick gold hoops on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon paired with a sheer black dress inspired by the 2010s. Emma Stone also wore a pair of small gold hoops on July 30, 2025, during a San Diego Padres game, adding a chic touch to her look.

Continuing the move away from indiscreet or understated ear jewelry, natural stone earrings are all the rage. Seen everywhere, they’re both natural and striking, and elevate your look. Simple yet captivating, they pair perfectly with summer outfits and are exploding in popularity on Instagram.

  1. Necklaces

Necklaces – timeless pieces that complete any outfit and make you sparkle – give you that extra something you were looking for. Mid-summer 2025, they come in diamondsheartsreinvented pearls and crosses.

Diamonds, synonymous with luxury, are shining bright this summer. Many necklaces are fully set with diamonds. Ariana Grande has even created a remarkable diamond collection with Swarovski for Spring/Summer 2025.

Romantic and graceful, heart-shaped pendant necklaces dominate social media. Jeanne Damas opts for minimalist versions in rose gold, while Bella Hadid goes for oversized hearts for a maximalist style. Emma Chamberlain and Lila Moss have also embraced the trend, proving that the heart works with any style – from retro to modern.

Layering remains a strong trend: mix fine chains, heart pendants and pearls to create a personal and stylish effect.

For a geometric and contemporary look, rectangular pendant necklaces are gaining popularity, especially with minimalist city outfits.

Reinvented pearl necklaces add elegance and lightness to your looks.

Cross necklaces, symbolic and elegant, are prized for their simplicity and work just as well with casual outfits as evening wear.

  1. Bracelets

By mid-summer, the standout accessory of the Goddess Aesthetic (inspired by ancient Greece) is the arm bracelet, which instantly gives you the look of a goddess. Once considered a trivial ornament or a symbol of wealth, divine protection or bravery (depending on the era and culture), it returned in the 1970s with the hippie-bohemian aesthetic, as highlighted by Vogue France. Updated by fashion houses such as Fendi, Rabanne, Diesel and Gucci, and worn by celebrities like Zendaya, it rises again in Summer 2025 like a phoenix to become a must-have piece.

We shouldn’t forget cuff bracelets, which wrap the wrist in golden metallic sheen. Floral cuffs are particularly popular on social media.

Charm bracelets adorned with fruity (lemons, strawberries) or marine (shells, starfish) pendants evoke summer with a nostalgic touch of the 2000s. Light and cheerful, they are perfect for mid-summer.

The tennis bracelet, born on the court, is also trending this summer 2025. First worn by player Chris Evert at the 1978 US Open (when play was famously stopped after she lost her bracelet), it was long reserved for special occasions. This season, however, it’s back as an everyday piece – day or night – worn alone or stacked. Meghan Markle herself has adopted it.

  1. Anklets

Predicted for Summer 2024 and now trending in 2025, anklets are everywhere this season in their most eye-catching forms. Whether shell-based for a marine feel, pearl-based to elevate, or diamond-set to dazzle, these early 2000s favorites have made a comeback. Worn by the likes of Rihanna, Hailey Bieber and Victoria Beckham, they are sure to elevate your look, whether worn alone or stacked.

  1. Rings

Gold rings dominate the trend this August, eclipsing silver for a sunny month! Worn stacked or individually with bold designs, set with natural stones or featuring open fronts, they instantly add glamour. At the Paris Haute Couture Week 2025, Sophie Marceau was spotted wearing a dazzling gold ring adorned with a beautiful turquoise stone. Selena Gomez has also been seen wearing gold rings set with colorful stones, such as a brass ring with an amethyst. Ariana Grande, for her part, has opted for fine gold rings set with stones like green onyx or rose quartz, stacked for a trendy effect.

Social media – especially Instagram and TikTok – are the stage for these new jewelry trends.

This summer 2025, jewelry rises from the ashes like a phoenix and reinvents itself to make you shine. From mismatched earrings and romantic heart necklaces to goddess-style bracelets and gold rings, each piece is an invitation to adorn yourself — so go ahead!
