Food lovers worldwide keep Paris the main point of their gourmet journeys. Known as the capital of fine cuisine, the city offers a great choice of places for fine dining that are eye-pleasing as well. Famous restaurants in Paris are well-known all over the world, and even those not so excited about food have heard of Maxim’s, Arpege, and Le Jules Verne. You may surely opt for the Michelin Guide, which is as precious for the restaurant business as the Golden Book of Ra was in ancient Egypt. However, not all the places worthy of seeing have Michelin stars. For example, the wonderful Bel Canto isn’t present in the Guide; nevertheless, it is definitely the place you will remember for the rest of your life. We’ve selected 5 names that, except marvelous food, offer more, be it the great view or entertainment.

Le Jules Verne

The magnificent restaurant located on the second floor of the famous Eiffel Tower. Curated by the prominent chef Frédéric Anton, the place offers you an unbeatable gastronomic journey and an unmatched view. In the very heart of Paris, you’ll be able to enjoy the essence of it; and the experience will certainly be memorable. The place is very romantic, so do not hesitate to bring your special one for a proposal here. The restaurant boasts one Michelin star and has a dress code. The average check is 150 Euros, but the experience is priceless.

La Tour d’Argent

This place is located near one of the symbolic and world-known buildings in the city, Notre-Dame de Paris, and is one of the oldest restaurants in the city. The place claims its first opening in 1582, which makes it not only a nice place to eat but the historical heritage of the country. Though La Couronne in Normandy is two centuries older, you won’t find a more authentic place in Paris. The restaurant’s insides are luxurious and sophisticated, good old Europe through and through. Visitors don’t just come here for the food, though it’s delicious, but for the atmosphere, that is impressive. The place is also in the Michelin Guide with one star.

Bel Canto

As was mentioned earlier, restaurants in Paris are not only about the food. Bel Canto is one of the opera-themed restaurants, which is precious for food-excited music lovers. If you wish to test your perception system and are not afraid to be torn between the greatest experience your ears and mouth get simultaneously, this is your destination. As with any fancy place, the visit here will easily consume several hours, so you’d better dedicate an entire evening to this visit. Besides the food and the music, the place also offers a magnificent view of Notre Dame.

Le Pre Catelan

In Paris, the restaurant’s chef name is significant to decide the quality of the place. Le Pre Catelan restaurant is another place Frédéric Anton is responsible for. It has 3 Michelin stars, which is the highest achievement in the restaurant business. From the delightful amuse-bouche to the sophisticated dessert, your senses will be experiencing the ultimate pleasure of startling tastes combinations, not to mention you’ll satiate your eyes as well. Haute cuisine is about perfection in any detail; that’s why attending a famous gastronomic restaurant is a way to take your experience to the next level. Of course, you may expect the average bill here would be approximately 250 Euros per one person; still, it’s worth every cent.

Sola

This one-star restaurant is unique for its approach. Kosuke Nabeta, the Japanese chef, runs the place so that it can boast a fascinating combination of Japanese cuisine standards performed with rural France ingredients. This is not precisely fusion cuisine, but the twist is exciting. The Sola restaurant impresses not only with food; the insides are pretty memorable as well. The average check would be approximately 150 Euros here.

Though only one of the restaurants named above appeared in the world’s best restaurants CNN Travel list for 2021, any of them hardly needs additional recognition. French haute cuisine is a brand on its own that sets standards worldwide. Gastronomic tours to France are equally popular as travels for sightseeing and fashion shopping. While the restaurants we’ve told you about are definitely worth attending, don’t limit your experience to just the capital of the country. Other areas have wonderful places to see as well, and every region is known for its culinary specifics.

Have you been to any of those restaurants? Please, share your aftertaste and impressions!
